Guiding loop
SKG is implemented as a multi-threaded software. Each loop runs concurrently. The role of the guiding loop is to calculate tracking error, and the correction values.
The guiding loop is controlled by the following toolbar:
Except the enable/disable dithering button all other toolbar buttons are grayed out when the acquisition loop is not running.
Enable dithering This button is grayed out when the dithering is enabled. |
|
Disable dithering This button is grayed out when the dithering is disabled. |
Once the acquisition loop has been started, the following buttons are enabled:
Guider calibration |
|
Start guiding loop This button is grayed out if the guider has never been calibrated. |
Once guider calibration or guiding loop has been started, the following buttons are enabled:
Pause guiding |
|
Stop guiding |
|
Resume move guider This button is grayed out when the guider move is enabled. |
|
Suspend move guider This button is grayed out when the guider move is suspended. |
|
Set guider reference frame |
The guider relay is controlled by the following toolbar:
All buttons are grayed out when the acquisition loop is not running.
To move the mount through the guider relay, enter the pulse duration in seconds and press at least one directional arrow button.
The calibrated check box allows to use the guider calibration data to move the guider parallel to the crosshairs for the given duration.
For example, if the guider camera is rotated by 45° with calibrated move the pulse will be sent to both axes in order to move the guider parallel to the crosshairs.
